✅ EU agriculture ministers recently met informally (3-5 September) and a #majority of the #ministers have supported the draft regulation on new genomic technologies (#NGT) proposed by the EU Commission in early July! (The draft regulation that we explained in this 🍪 Cookie-Monster-Post: https://lnkd.in/e3CBC26X.)
🌽 Under the proposal, NGT1 breeds with up to 20 single modifications wouldn’t require special labeling or stricter assessments compared to conventional breeds. This regulation would make it easier to use advanced #genetic#techniques to improve crops 🌿.
